Empowering you to a healthy
body, mind, & spirit

I started strength training with Guy in August 2007 as I was healing from a painful flare-up of arthritis in my neck which caused pain to radiate down my right arm. I was under the care of a chiropractor and he strongly encouraged me to keep up my active lifestyle of kayaking, hiking, biking, and working out at home. When I first started strength training, there was a noticeable difference in the strength of my arms -- my sore right arm significantly weaker than my left. My goal was to strengthen my neck and upper back in an effort to keep the arthritis from causing pain, to keep the joints mobile, and hopefully, to prevent it from getting worse over time. There is no difference in the strength of my arms now -- they're both strong.

Guy has not only taught me what I needed to do to strengthen my back -- and the rest of me -- but
has motivated and encouraged me to remain active. The workouts are always varied and interesting – we have never done the same workout twice. We’ve used all the equipment in the gym as well as sometimes working out using no specialized equipment. Guy has a vast repertoire of exercises to keep the workouts interesting and effective.
I still go to the chiropractor for tune-ups as needed -- currently only 2 or 3 times a year. He adjusted my back as it changed (strengthened) over time, always happy with my progress. On my most recent visit, his (unsolicited) comment was that he was now working on a strong back, where, two and a half years ago, it was a damaged back.

Training with Guy has allowed me to continue to do all the outdoor activities I enjoy. I am so much stronger now. I do everything I want to do: carry the kayaks, lift them onto the car-top carrier, paddle in any conditions without it causing pain or damage, hike up mountains wearing a 20+ lb. backpack
all day long with no problems, etc.
Guy has helped me to achieve my strength goals. I can do everything I want to do and I plan on remaining active for the rest of my life.

"I felt AMAZING after training the other night, like I could take on the world!  I forgot how awesome it was to work out with a trainer... Thank you."

Training with Guy is my gift to myself. I am a baby boomer who never had gym in school. Working out as part of being healthy, let alone knowing all that entailed, was not something that was easy for me to learn how to do. I had had a few gym memberships over the years, but eventually I'd lose interest and quit. With Guy, I get the whole package. We work on flexibility, strength, my core (always my core, nutrition, even dealing with stress - we continue to focus on all these areas. I am learning so much, I'm
fit, and I function better in my everyday life, which is my main reason for training with him. Hey, even my clothes look better on me! We have fun and laugh a lot, which is important to me, especially since fitness does not come naturally to me. Guy is a wonderful professional, comfortable and easy to have in my home twice a week. He's the best!

A few times a year my back would go out due to herniated disks in my lower back and I’d be in pain and unable to work for a few weeks. The focus of my workouts is functional fitness - strengthening my core, stretching, balance, and weight training -- so that I can do what I need to do. My whole body is stronger and now I use my legs, abs, and improved balance to safely accomplish heavy work without hurting my back. Since working with Guy, my back goes out much less often and recovery is quicker. I’m 52 years old and feel younger and stronger than I did before working out.

I must confess I saw a living social deal to do a boot camp in Medford and thought I'd give it a whirl, what a mistake.  It might work for some people, but I don't think it's going to work for me. It’s just a boring workout, lots of push-ups, burpees, and high knees, although effective moves, an hour of different combinations of those things is sooo boring.

I am going to finish the boot camp cuz I hate to waste the money, but I hope you will be doing one again because I enjoyed it so much more, it was hard, but fun and creative!

I have been a client of Guy's for almost 10 years now. He has personalized workouts for me each and every time. I have had pregnancy training, weight loss training, strength training, whole body, split body and now endurance training as I am going to try my first half marathon. Guy can change a workout in a moments notice (I was having knee pain the other day) and still get my workout goals completed. He is always in tune to making sure I am getting results, using proper form, and most importantly, enjoying my workout. We usually talk about my nutrition and how to keep healthy snacks and meal planning. My husband started training with Guy about 2 years ago. While we have completely different goals, we both love working out with Guy. He is really great and I recommend him highly whether you want to bulk up, slim down or just stay healthy. When my kids are with me, he even gives them fun kid appropriate athletic activities to keep them busy while focusing on me. Guy is excellent!!!!!

I have been training with Guy for 5 months, in five months I have lost 36lbs and almost 5 inches off my waistline! Guy is so much more than just a trainer, he has a zest for life and living well that is infectious, he is never judgmental and never not encouraging. Guy has been key in learning how to eat healthy (and delicious) and getting me on an exercise program that works wonders and is always new, fun and challenging. We meet twice a week and it has transformed me into a healthier and more energized person! I’m ready to lose the remaining 25ibs to get to my goal weight.
Thanks Guy!

After dealing with tendonitis in my foot for more than two years despite diligently doing my physical therapy, I was beginning to despair that I would ever be able to run again. I contacted Guy in the hopes that working with a trainer might help me get back on the road. We only met for six sessions (over a two-month period), but by the end of it, I was able to run/walk a 5K--far better results than I had hoped for! Guy encouraged me to focus on core strength in addition to the leg strength/balance exercises I'd been doing for my foot, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much that helped. He was very good about checking in with me to see how my foot was doing during and after each session, and how I was doing with my solo workouts the rest of the week. That accountability, coupled with the gradual progress I saw week by week, really helped me stay motivated to stick with the plan. And I'm so glad I did! Guy was also great with my infant son, whom I had to bring with me to most of my sessions.

received two sessions with Guy as a birthday gift from my sister. I am an active mom with zero free time. Our sessions were focused, professional, challenging and a lot of fun. Guy went out of his way (literally) with personalized workouts he conducted with me in the comfort of my own back yard! Despite only having spent two hours with him, I have learned new exercises to vary my routine, tips on maintaining proper form, breathing techniques and the confidence to push myself through those final reps! I highly recommend Guy to anyone who is looking for a personalized setting and unique ways to change up their workouts!

I have been training with Guy for over seven years. As a person with a physical disability, I was nervous about finding a trainer that would be willing to work with me and my differences. Guy jumped onboard without hesitation. He asked thoughtful questions on how to build the best routine and what he did not know, researched and developed an evolving workout that still changes seven plus years in.
On top of Guy’s expertise in the fitness world; he is a kind, gentle, caring person who always puts a smile on his face all while loving what he does.
